GRADUATION!! (Grad School)

Out of Steam....

I have 13 weeks left of the semester. It sounds like such a small number, but the urge to cry is strong. I think I am in over my head. But truly I am not. It isn't that I can't survive the schedule I have set for myself. It is that I just don't want to any more. My motivation is completely lacking. While the schedule is rewarding it is also very demanding. I never get to do what I want any more. I love learning and I have chosen this path. I know that.

I also know that I took on the extra responsibilities for the event and I won't back out now. I committed and I keep my commitments. But I will admit that I have started counting down the days until Nov. 21st when I can eliminate it from my schedule. (I believe we have 67...should I put a counter on my blog? Lol!)

So people....what I need from you are ideas. I need help staying motivated. How can someone who is working a 37 hour work week, has 17 credits, and helping with an event keep her head above water. I just need ideas to keep me in a good mood......well at least most of the time. Can any one give me any suggestions?

Okay back to the 2 short stories for American Lit, the paper and 2 chapters for Writing and the 2 readings for American History.......

Blue October... it's the answer to everything ;)

Perhaps the secret is to recognize that you may not be able to keep your head above water. At that point, you might start researching SCUBA gear instead. ;)

And, for the record, you overstated the number of days you have to go. At the time you posted this, it was only 65, not 67. Now, it's only 64! If you write it in hexadecimal, that's only 40!

Believe me, you can make it. You might need a month in a green pasture when you are done, but you can make it.

Set aside 15 minutes to read something totally unrelated. I used to read People magazine in the library. Completely mindless, but a good break that isn't completely out of focus and won't make you gain 20 pounds.

I like Kate's idea. Do something you enjoy for a short time each day to keep you going. Whether that's reading, or cooking, walking, exploring, etc. Since school had completely ruined my desire for pleasure reading (go Latin!), I switched to movies.
You should watch Friends!! They're short episodes, generally hysterical, and definitely distracting. Or you could go for a different sitcom like Will & Grace, or go for something more classic like one of the cartoons you grew up on. Just a suggestion

Don't know if this will help but remember that I love you and appreciate all that you are helping me do!! I couldn't make it through our event without you - so when you get overwhelmed call me (you know no matter what time it is!! =) and I will talk you off the ledge. You are awesome!! And just remember - you get to ride the Harley after hours all you want!!!
